The Palace Museum is simply my favourite place in Beijing. The Summer Palace is no doubt bigger and grander, but I think the Palace itself is just so much more magnificent as this was where history was built. It is also right smack in the middle of Beijing, co-existing with modern society, but yet still retaining it's old world grandeur.
