Double Bay...

Update session with AT and FL took place at Double Bay.  It is our first visit there after reading some favourable reviews on their fish and chips.

We had the Double Bay Signature Roasted Pork...which came with an extra tough layer of skin.  Give me "sio bak" anytime!  But the apple "sauce" which accompanied the pork was good.

We ordered another appetizer, the scallops...not fantastic again.  I've concluded that I'm not going to get juicy plump scallops in Singapore anytime soon!  :(

The main dishes fared better.  The crabmeat linguine was quite good, but I still prefer Marmalade Pantry's version.

Out came the star!  We ordered the Barred Cod with Sumac and Coriander batter.  Ok, I am not a fish fan, and hardly order fish.  But I can really taste the freshness and sweetness of the fish in this dish!  I don't mind ordering fish if ALL fishes taste like this?  I may even learn to like fish!

The desserts were disappointing though.  The lemon meringue pie was so-so only...nothing to shout about.  Totally not worth the calories.

The Profiteroles are worse!  The pistachios nuts sprinkled over it is not even fresh, it's chewy!  Yucks!  The filling of the profiteroles are tasteless...again, not worth the calories!  We didn't even finish it.

We had Pegasus Bay Riesling, and it was a refreshing wine to have with this meal...or any meal.  I like Riesling, it seems to go with almost anything.

Will I come back to Double Bay?  Probably, when I have a craving for fish and chips!

Oh Lulu...how I love you so...

It was love at first sight when I set eyes on a
Lulu Guinness Pollyanna clutch bag! Ok, this is a premature splurge but I am getting my bonus next week anyway!?!  :)

I can already imagine myself clutching this bag to lazy Sunday brunches at Rider's Cafe.  Me clutching it to wedding dinners, or to a romantic dinner at Indochine with J.  I can also clutch it to dinners when I'm back in Jakarta!

I have big plans for this bag!

In the meantime, I will just admire it, and make reservations for brunch this weekend.  Bliss!

View from my room...

I was greeted in the morning with this view from my hotel room in Brisbane. It was a pleasant surprise :) The bathroom also faces the river, and it's all glass walled, so I shower with this view too!

But it has been work and more work here...no time to sightsee! And I cannot access Facebook, not even with the hotel's brodband :( Upset....

Hope to get some shopping done tomorrow morning before I fly back to Singapore though. Witchery here I come!
Thank goodness for the iPhone keeping me company during those lonely nights in the hotel room, and of course taking these pictures!

Time to get ready to go to the office now!
